I am in two minds about strictly goal-oriented efforts. I believe they anchor single loop learning, and as such tend to become a trap. FDR bridges into double loop learning when he calls upon our drive of experimentation. But building a new world is something that needs triple loop learning. It's another ball game that challenges our appetite for not-knowing. From that, something truly new can emerge. I believe we need more of that now.
