I sympathize with your comment, Caren. When I discovered Marlieke's blog series, I bookmarked it but did not set out to read it straight away. It was very clear that this would require sustained attention. I now read blogs 1 and 2 and I agree that the writing in to a certain extent demanding. However, I'm a member of this "professional tribe" and, at surface level, I can relate to it quite easily. And yet, I feel like I have to slow down and savour the intricate quality of the writing. For me the prose's subtlety is an expression of nuance and therefore care. I experience it as a bit of a master class in writing with heart and humbleness about complicated subjects.
