It's not a matter of either this or that mode, but a progressive enrichment of the musical experience whereby 'higher' modes (such as the generative) give context and meaning to 'lower' modes (such as the biophysical). I acknowledge that one might dispute the particular way in which I ranked the modes." You may want to put the social mode at the very top, infusing all aspects of the musical experience with meaning.
